If none of those rules match, Home Assistant things the app is in “standby”. Then, go to the Home Assistant services tab and run the androidtv.adb_command service with the command GET_PROPERTIES. Lost ability to control SHIELD with Google Home after taking upgrade
Home Assistant knows how to convert some of these names for popular apps, but if you need to get it to work with an unsupported app there are a couple of steps. Use the Home app to control on/off, volume, playback, inputs, and more for your connected streaming and media devices. I can review all the Google Assistant commands given on the devices, and see a list of them in the iOS app. But I can't seem to add them to a room, or add them as an actual device you can target.
It's able to see the device on the network, but can't get past that point. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the app, with Android, or with the Shield itself, but regardless the app is useless to me at the moment. If you are eager to try out the features, a restart of your SHIELD TV will deliver the new features within a day. This app is hit or miss on whether it will work properly. When it doesn't, it absolutely doesn't and most likely will continue to not work for several days in a row. Makes no sense how it can operate flawlessly for daya on end.

Once SHIELD is restarted, press the microphone button on your remote to complete the Google Assistant setup on your device. If you initiate a voice search within an app, you will get search results only from that app. Some apps like Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and HBO Now can start playing shows automatically.
The feature will be available for SHIELD owners to use up until the middle of the month. There’s no specific date for the shutdown though. From any app or the home screen press the NVIDIA button or press the Voice search button . If you own a new SHIELD Controller, you can say "OK Google" or "Hey Google" to begin your request. Used this app quite frequently on an iOS device without any issues, and initially it looked like that would be my Android experience as well. However, after being able to connect without issue at first launch, I have been unable to get it to connect since.

Giving verbal commands to my Google home results in lots of glitches lately. Too easy to accidentally turn a light off when trying to dim or charge colors. Problem is they are connected to the same network as the phone, and the devices are on and connected. I even turned off my cellular data in case it was some how checking out by cellular instead of wi-fi. After that, I can get to a screen on the iOS Home app that lists the Shields. It says I can add them to a room (but when I do, they don't appear as in that room), but I can't really.
From there, streaming is as easy as a few clicks. Unfortunately, there seems to be not much of a point for NVIDIA to continue operating GameStream. In an official statement from NVIDIA, the company says that GameStream will be pulled offline in February of 2023 as part of an update to the NVIDIA Games app.
I’m really happy with my NVIDIA Shield and it’s been rock solid since upgrading my media center. If you have smart lighting in the same room as your media player, you can automatically dim lights once media playing starts. I like to use Home Assistant scenes to state how I want the lighting in a room to look.
But oddly, it still is showing Assistant voice commands used on the SHIELDS, on the Home iOS app, almost as soon as they are used. Very little delay between using a voice command and the record of it showing up in the account viewed through the app. But now, I can't configure or use the devices in any way.
Hold your SHIELD Remote in front of you and say your question. Your assistant results appear as soon as you finish speaking. I've tried the suggestions on this thread and nothing has worked.

The PC and the SHIELD have to be on the same network, and GeForce Experience needs to be installed on the PC. Well that can easily be achieved by using the adb_command service once again. Another thing you might want to do is automatically play a YouTube video whenever an event occurs. Maybe during the holidays, you want to come into a house with the classic log fireplace video running. The first step you’ll need to do is to enable ADB debugging on your NVIDIA Shield. ADB stands for “Android Debug Bridge” and it will essentially allow Home Assistant to communicate with your NVIDIA Shield to get data about its current status.
Use parental controls like Wi-Fi pause to manage online time for the kids. Automatically prioritize video conferencing and gaming traffic on all devices, or decide which devices to prioritize for all traffic types.
